You might be thinking the big money to be made in Apple has already been made. Think again. The hefty profits we've made over the past 18 months were just a warm up. With such big profits already in hand I realize that is a bold claim.
But as you're about to discover, the great profits we've seen so far are simply part 1 of a repeat performance as the market underestimates the transformation of Apple from a computer centric company to a consumer ecosystem all star.

It's a simple concept that is underappreciated by far too many stuck in a mode of thinking about Apple as related to the PC landscape. Apple still has the millions of untapped customers that falsely believe they can't run the Microsoft windows products they use at work on that shiny new MAC they'd love to own but for that "incompatibility". But when they get into an Apple store to check out the iPhone they find out differently. They also find out how friendly it is to use the iPod with a MAC and love that they can connect to the internet on the iPhone.
Apple is transforming a defined brand appeal in consumer products and personal mobile internet connectivity into MAC sales...and the bottom line will only get better as the new more powerful iPhone is set to appear. Apple's transformation into a must have consumer product company is synergistic to its MAC business. It's a bottom up ecosystem strategy nobody else is even coming close to challenging.

Apple is set to debut a 3G version of the iPhone. This will open the door to several options for Apple to penetrate much more deeply into the high end phone business. As Apple moves from a computer centric business to an ecosystem business it is reshaping itself into a juggernaut; producing compelling consumer products and follow on MAC sales. It's a simple, effective, and repeatable strategy leading to big gains for investors as well. The good news is that the market looks at the shortest of periods when deciding where Apple is headed. But the quarterly iPod sales, iPhone shortages, or the rate of ramp of the 3G iPhone misses the big picture. What we are watching is an underestimated transformation to a synergistic ecosystem model.
