For over 20 years we have been a leader in the outdoor industry in our pack and sleeping bag design. Our colors and designs address both function and style. Quality Pack and Travel Products Solid design, top quality production techniques and the best raw materials in the industry all contribute to making Caribou packs and luggage the best in the market place. Lock Stitch sewing machines ensure that a broken stitch remains just that... a single broken stitch. Double needle lock stitching is standard for all our zippers. Backstitching, Bartacking and Z- Stitches are used to guarantee adequate strength at all stress points. We take a full 1/2 inch seam allowance wherever fabric edges are joined, and insure that all inside seams are taped to prevent fabric unraveling. But most of all... we use the best materials in the industry, like genuine leather for bottoms, handles and trim, YKK #5, #7 and #10 zippers, the best in the industry, and proven fabrics like Ballistics cloth, Caprolan and Cordura Plus. Caribou Sleeping Bags: Caribou has been building sleeping bags for over ten years. We have learned which fabrics, zippers, and types of insulation are required to build a quality sleeping bag. The Louverloft shingle system was designed and engineered to provide a superior technique for distributing fill without cold spots. Our contoured hoods are designed for comfort and maximum insulation, and trapezoidal foot sections mold to the natural fall of the feet. A differential cut (the inside is cut smaller than the outside) ensures the fill will not be compressed by the fabric and maximizes the fill's effectiveness. All Caribou sleeping bags exhibit important features like a plump draft tube that drapes behind the zipper, an insulated gusset at the zipper's end, singleneedle lockstitching and overlock stitching on the seams. By using the best materials available and performing all the required steps, Caribou sleeping bags lead the industry in quality and performance. All Caribou products are proudly made in the U.S.A. On our colder bags we add an insulated wind collar, and the expedition bags (-30 degrees F) come standard with a safety seal system (a double zippered draft tube) to ensure protection in the most adverse of conditions.
