Mit der Firma Stauff Systec GmbH haben wir beschlossen, zunächst unsere Produkte GCAS/GCAS PLUS Flight Companion mit Flymap zu der neuen Version Flymap GCAS/GCAS+ zu vereinen. Die Produkte Flight Companion START und Flight Companion ICAO 3.1 werden von der Flymap-Standardversion abgelöst. Die Zeit war reif für diesen Schritt, weil die eigene Weiterentwicklung unseres Highend-Produkts GCAS/GCAS PLUS Flight Copmpanion Verkaufspreise ergeben hätte, die am Markt nicht durchsetzbar sind. "Für unsere Flymap-Systeme ist die GCAS-Funktion eine willkommene Bereicherung. Das Thema 'Warnung vor unbeabsichtigtem Einflug in Gelände' war bei uns schon länger in der Diskussion.", begründet Stauff Systec die Entscheidung. Gemeinsam haben wir uns zum Ziel gesetzt, Ihren Anforderungen noch besser gerecht zu werden und ein Produkt anzubieten, das mit einem Maximum sinnvoller Funktionen und größter Bedienerfreundlichkeit ausgestattet ist. Die wesentlichen Merkmale des neuen Flymap GCAS/GCAS+: - Terrainanzeige, - Warnung bei Annäherung an Hindernisse, - farblich abgestufte Darstellung des Geländes je nach Warnstufe in der Moving Map. Datenbasis der GCAS-Funktion ist die aus der Profifliegerei bekannte Geländedatenbank von Jeppesen. Die Geländedaten gibt es in drei Größenklassen: Regional (z.B. Deutschland und angrenzende Länder), Mitteleuropa und Europa. Passend zur Flächendeckung der Geländedaten sind die digitalen Luftfahrtkarten erhältlich. In der Variante Flymap GCAS+ wird zusätzlich auch vor Luftfahrthindernissen wie Masten, Leitungen, Seilbahnen, Schornsteinen gewarnt. Die Obstacles Database von Jeppesen liefert dazu die Informationen, optional mit Aktualisierungsdienst.
