Function
Middle East General Manager
has overall management responsibility for the daily operations of the station
including senior level supervision of radio staff, budget administration,
planning and programming; coordination with the international broadcasting
bureaus on overseas transmission issues.
Duties
Manage the daily operation of
the station ensuring that all editorial and financial controls are engaged.
Lead strategic planning to optimize
the station’s potential in the region, with an understanding of the related
geopolitical issues and media environment that impact the future of the
station.
Develop, implement, and evaluate
program formats & concept changes.
Lead resource planning for domestic
and overseas facilities, employees and contractors
Coordinate on all program reviews
to monitor and evaluate the quality of the station
Ensure appropriate training
plans, employee evaluations and counseling, are provided to employees as
appropriate
Ensure that a safe and positive
work environment is provided for all employees.
Liaison to external organizations
on matters concerning station operations as directed by the President.
The incumbent may be asked to
perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated

Requirements
B.S. Degree in communications,
broadcasting, or related field; ten years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Extensive knowledge of the Middle
Eastern media environment and geopolitical issues that affect transmission

Previous experience with an
international broadcaster preferred, including experience in managing

Job Description
The Director of Facilities Operations
is responsible for the mechanical and electrical systems in a 24/7 broadcast
television facility.
The technical and non-technical
space is over one million square feet.
The electrical plant includes
three 2 MW generators enabling the facility to go off grid during periods
of peak demand.
There are four large UPS’s in
the facility.
The Director manages all preventative
maintenance of the HVAC and electrical systems using both contractors and
internal resources.
The Director supervises the
daily work of the IBEW Local 3 electric shop and the International Union
of Operating Engineers Local 30 engineers.
Other responsibilities include
providing input to the Facilities Design and Construction Department in
the design of capital improvements.
Required
Candidates should have a bachelor’s
degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering
A PE is preferred (but not required)
At least 7-10 years experience

Position
Summary
Reports
to VP of Network Affiliate Distribution & Engineering
Provide
engineering support for existing and new distribution technologies for
the network.
Work directly
with internal departments, affiliates and distributors.
Participate
in industry activities, maintain vendor and affiliate relationships to
further network's business objectives.
Responsible
for monitoring emerging technologies, various distributors' needs and strategies,
together with network's objectives and needs, thereby identifying implications.
Assist
in developing plans and overseeing implementation of distribution strategies
with distributors (e.g., cable TV, DBS, broadband, etc.) to ensure timely
deployment and continuity of service.
Responsible
for reviewing and evaluating new distribution technologies to review and
make recommendations on performance and security issues.
Participate
and contribute to intra-company/inter-discipline projects which have technology
issues and implications, contributing technical expertise and recommending
solutions to meet objectives.
Responsible
for providing problem solving and technical support to affiliate/distributors
as well as network departments as needed.
Responsible
for cultivating first-hand relationships with customers, vendors, and other
industry constituents in order to stay abreast of developments and help
maintain networks leadership role in technology related fields.
Skills
Required
Electrical
Engineering degree or equivalent; MBA a plus
Strong
self-starter; attention to detail and deadline-oriented performer a must
Strong
interpersonal skills and team player essential.
Minimum
5-years industry experience including strong background in media distribution
technology: Cable, DBS, Broadband, (networking) technologies including
design, infrastructure, strategies.
Cable
system operations experience a plus.
Strong
background in digital transmission technologies such as MPEG compression,
streaming media, satellite transmission and reception, conditional access
and interactive television.
Working
knowledge of software application development as it pertains to interactive
television, distribution technologies (such as headend and client systems).

Summary
One

seeking a senior editor to work in a highly desirable area of the industry.
This person will work and interface with other talented, writers, editors,
producers, broadcasting and advertising executives as they review, edit
and approve creative commercial materials for production and On-Air dissemination.
Outstanding skills with the English language are required.
Responsibilities
Reviews
broadcast material, including scripts, story boards and tapes to ensure
compliance with appropriate guidelines and standards.
Communicate
in writing and by phone with advertising agencies on commercial issues.
Includes
requests for substantiation and negotiations for revisions in audio and
visual segments.
Reports
to and consults with Vice President, Program Practices, NY on broadcast
material elements which are problematic.
Notifies
in writing and verbally other areas of the Network of special elements
which are likely to impact those areas.
Where
appropriate, consults with Law Department on legal issues raised by broadcast
material.
Consults
with Research Department on testing sent in support of commercial claims.
Heavy
phone contact with clients, producers and viewers.
If assigned,
travels to locations to view events, run throughs, tapping and screenings.

Job
description: This position, based in New York City is for TV and Film Operations
in North America & Europe. Studio financial executives on the
West Coast, East Coast, England & Germany report into this person.
The objective is to bring production, post production, co-production development
and distribution costs into focus and to eventually consolidate all these
operations into "GLOBAL" finance with this new person heading that entire
area in 2002.
A fair
amount of this job from the onset will be development of co-production
financial structures as they pertain to existing and new relationships
with a number of large projects currently in production/development on
the West Coast.
Talent/Contract
negotiations will now report into this financial group and production costing
will need approval from the Sr. VP on all major talent contracts over $5,000,000.
Revenue distribution to talent, pay, points, share value, residual rights,
foreign distribution revenue sharing, ancillary rights.
Travel
15% to 20% Person will work with senior most studio executives to impart
