Welkom bij ICS 
International Child Support (ICS) zet zich in voor het welzijn van kinderen in ontwikkelingslanden. ICS wil dat alle jongens en meisjes kind kunnen zijn in een veilige leefomgeving. Centraal staat dat kinderen in deze veilige leefomgeving zichzelf ontplooien tot sterke persoonlijkheden en zo ontsnappen aan de armoede.
Focus: kwetsbare kinderen in afgelegen gebieden
ICS richt zich op de meest kwetsbare kinderen, en dan voornamelijk op die kinderen die wonen in de (afgelegen) plattelandsgebieden van Azië en Afrika. Speciale aandacht gaat uit naar kinderen met een handicap, kinderen getroffen door de effecten van HIV/AIDS, kinderen in conflictsituaties en kinderen die zijn misbruikt dan wel uitgebuit.

Samenwerking met de lokale bevolking helpt!
Onze hulpverlening is gericht op nauwe samenwerking met de mensen die deze hulp nodig hebben. Zo raakt de bevolking persoonlijk betrokken, waardoor ze zich verantwoordelijk voelen voor de projecten. Dat helpt echt!
ICS steunt al ruim 1.450 scholen. Lokale medewerkers helpen mee om vanuit de regiokantoren in Kenia en Thailand de hulpprojecten uit te voeren. Op deze site leest u daar alles over.
Hoe pakt ICS de hulpverlening aan?
Hulp heeft weinig kans van slagen als je middelen en kennis inzet zonder de mensen zélf te betrekken. ICS gaat daarom uit van wat de mensen al weten en wat ze al hebben. Door deze basis als uitgangspunt te nemen kan er langzamerhand naar verbetering worden gewerkt zodat de bevolking uit de armoedespiraal kan komen. De mensen zelf moeten het werk doen om onafhankelijk te worden. ICS ondersteunt hen daarbij.
ICS werkt in Afrika en Azië. De projectlanden zijn: Cambodja, Filippijnen, Kenia, Laos, Oeganda, Tanzania, en Thailand.
Daarnaast wordt op de Filippijnen, in Kenia en Oeganda een aantal partners door ICS ondersteund.
De hulpverlening van ICS is te verdelen in drie onderdelen:
1. Onderwijs
2. Gezondheidsvoorlichting en -zorg
3. Armoedebestrijding door inkomensgenererende projecten.
De drie hulpverleningsonderdelen zorgen samen voor een duurzame verbetering van de leefomstandigheden, en leiden niet alleen tot zelfrespect, maar ook tot onafhankelijkheid van de betrokkenen.
