Wheelchair on plane bursts into flamesAn electric wheelchair burst into flames seconds after being removed from the hold of a jet, it has emerged.
The incident, which took place shortly after a holiday jet landed at Manchester Airport, with more than 200 passengers on board.
It triggered a warning from the Civil Aviation Authority about the dangers of carrying electrical goods on an aircraft.
The plane, a First Choice Boeing 757, had landed at the airport after a flight from Fureteventura.
