Lietuvos aprangos ir tekstilės įmonių asociacijos nariais yra 155 tekstilės, drabužių, odos, kailių ir avalynės gamybos bei paslaugų bendrovės ir privačios įmonės, kuriose dirba apie 46 000 žmonių. Lengvoji pramonė, jungianti tekstilės, drabužių, odos, avalynės ir kailių sektorius, yra viena ryškiausių pramonės šakų, daranti didelę įtaką makroekonominiam šalies stabilumui.
2008 m lapkričio 20 d LR Ūkio ministerijoje pristatytas projektas „Lietuvos aprangos ir tekstilės pramonės strategijos ir LATIA ilgalaikės veiklos programos parengimas“. (Plačiau)
2008 m. rugsėjo 17-19 dienomis įvyko 17-oji specializuota, tarptautinė tekstilės ir aprangos gaminių ir inovacijų paroda “BALTIJOS TEKSTILE IR ODA”. (Plačiau)
2008 m rugsėjo 03 dieną įvyko Lietuvos aprangos ir tekstilės įmonių asociacijos LATIA visuotinas narių susirinkimas, kuriame buvo išrinktas naujas LATIA Prezidiumas, Taryba ir Revizijos komisija.

2008 m birželio 24-26 d. EUROPOS PARLAMENTE BRIUSELYJE (BELGIJA) vyko LIETUVOS APRANGOS IR TEKSTILĖS PRAMONĖS PRISTATYMAS (Plačiau)
2008 metų kovo mėn. 14 d įvyko susitikimas su Borås miesto (Švedija) savivaldybės atstovais dėl projekto Marketplace Boras aptarimo, kurio tikslas - Lietuvos aprangos ir tekstilės pramonės eksporto į Švediją plėtra. (Plačiau).
LATIA atstovai aktyviai dalyvavo ruošiant Europos ekonomikos ir socialinių reikalų komiteto/Pramonės permainų konsultacinio komiteto nuomonė dėl ES tekstilės, aprangos ir avalynės sektoriaus raidos perspektyvų. (Plačiau).
