Группа предприятий «Ангстрем» создана с целью закрепления статуса ведущего производителя в российской электронной отрасли и расширения доли своего участия в направлениях бизнеса по созданию, производству и реализации изделий электронной техники. Предприятия группы производят микропроцессоры, микроконтроллеры, калькуляторы, драйверы, статические и динамические запоминающие устройства, логические и цифровые микросхемы, преобразователи, силовую электронику и другие микроэлектронные компоненты. Половина всей продукции группы реализуется на внешнем рынке. Основными потребителями продукции на внутреннем рынке являются госпредприятия. Акционерные общества, входящие в группу «Ангстрем», принимают непосредственное участие в выполнении подпрограммы «Развитие электронной компонентной базы» на 2007–2011 годы в составе Федеральной целевой программы «Национальная технологическая база», которая является этапом преодоления технологического отставания в микроэлектронике ключевыми отечественными предприятиями. Реализация программы позволит снизить до 50% использование импортных комплектующих российской технике.
